To Vaccinate or not to Vaccinate that is the debated question

Earlier this week I got into a discussion with a group of women about vaccination. I know right now I don't have to worry about it but it has been waying on my mind. Jackson got his 2 month needles and after that is when he got sick. Since then I have always wondered if that was part of the problem...along with his heart problem which still is inconclusive since we still haven't got a final autopsy report back.

Anyways working in childcare you hear a lot of things including information about vaccinations. I have met 3 different people who have told me their children were fine until they got their 18 month needles and then things took a turn and suddenly their children were diagnosed autistic. Now my paranoia is at a high. To vaccinate or not to vaccinate. I know lots of people who don't get their children vaccinated and all of their children are fine, I also know lots of children who have been vaccinated and all of them are fine.

I just don't know if I am willing to take the risk, but is it a risk either way. I will have to keep researching this information because I just don't know what I would do right now. I guess I could research the heck out of it but their would probably be no conclusive answer.

  1. Hey Linds, I watched a Television show about this. The "study" that had been done about vaccinations was actually made up, and the doctor who created it has since been discredited.
The other thing that was mentioned was, the definition of autism has changed and now it is under a bigger umbrella than what it used to be. Some mental illnesses that were classified as one thing are now under autism.
Keep doing the research, but I just wanted tell you what I've heard so far. Until we know exactly what took our Jackson we are going to have more questions than answers.

  2. I feel the same way as you...although I have 4 older kids that were vaccinated...my son died the same day as he got his 4 month shots...it has completly freaked me out...not sure how I feel about this as well :(

  3. I did a lot of reading during my pregnancy and I will be honest. I didn't feel 100% comfortable with not vaccinating or vaccinating. I don't think there is a right answer. My favourite resource was Dr. Sears vaccination book. I can't remember what it is called. He suggests a schedule that is difficult to achieve in Canada... Why do they have to bundle so many vaccinations together is my issue. Why does it have to be a for profit business? I could trust the vax more if it was non-profit.

I am completely comfortable with our choice not to vaccinate. Marshall appears to be much more resilient to illness then the vaccinated children I know.. However, so is my husband so perhaps he has great genes.

I would never judge a persons choice one way or the other because like I said, I don't think there is a wrong choice.

  4. I think what is most important but is being neglected is proper nutrition, physical activity, lots of time outdoors, reduced stress etc. There's no point abusing our body's and then vaccinating to prevent diseases???

I also find it interesting that vaccinations wear off over time. As adults we are not immune to diseases we had been vaccinated with if we were vaccinated more than like 15 years ago.

  5. Interesting post. I always wondered about vaccination as well. But my son died from a virus that, if there was a vaccine for, he would have not gotten as sick and would still be here. I think there are pros and cons of each, just like many things and you need to decide what works best for you.
    Hope you are doing well..

  6. I think there are lots of arguments either way. I'm definitely in favor of vaccinations, but I think we give way too many, way too early, and there are many documented cases of vaccine induced illnesses and deaths, and billions of dollars that have been awarded by the vaccine courts. In my opinion, the medical community bunches vaccines together (unlike other drugs, the combined and cross effects are not studied or tested) in order to insure that all of the mandated vaccines are given, with other studies showing that if they are spread out, they are less likely to be completed. My advice: spread them out and insist on this with your doctor. Read Dr. Kenneth Bock's book that includes a safer vaccination schedule, and read Vaccine Epidemic. which just came out last year, and argues for safer vaccinations.
